On arrival at Lakeside you will be asked to complete a registration form before your physiotherapist takes you through to an individual treatment room for assessment. They will record any relevant information including medical history regarding your condition, examine the area to be treated and diagnose where possible the problem. They will then discuss their findings with you, provide you with a treatment plan before commencing treatment. If they feel Physiotherapy is not deemed to be appropriate they will advise you accordingly and recommend further management. With your consent we will advise your GP of your attendance as a matter of course.
Yes, your initial assessment will include treatment.
Please bear in mind that the therapist will want to visibly look at the area being treated and assess movement and therefore suitable loose clothing is advisable. For gym rehabilitation loose comfortable clothing is recommended with trainers as required. We have male and female changing facilities for your convenience.
All appointments are set at 60 minutes including rehabilitation sessions. For your initial assessment if you can arrive 5 minutes early it will allow for the registration form to be completed thereby giving you the full hour with the physiotherapist.
You do not need to have seen a doctor before attending for physiotherapy if you are self funding, however, if you are using private medical insurance you will need to check with your provider first as some do require a GP referral.
All clients are welcome to being a chaperone with them. If the patient is under 16 years of age or has special needs this is compulsory.
We do treat problems and injuries in children of all ages. Please contact us if you would like an opinion as to whether we are the right people to help.
There is a free on site car park with disabled access.
You can pay by card or cash unless you are using a private health insurance and we will then invoice them direct once we have the required authorisation details. We are recognised by the majority of private health companies however if you are unsure please just contact us. Payment is requested at the end of each treatment session by either cash, credit/debit card.
Any information relating to your medical condition eg x rays, scans, reports, referral letters are all useful for the treating physiotherapist.
We are recognised by all major Health Insurance Companies including Bupa, AXA PPP, Aviva, Standard Life, Permanent Health Company and Invoice them directly. Please ensure you have contacted them prior to your first visit as you will be required to provide the name of your Insurance Company, your membership number and/or appropriate claim number to allow us to Invoice them directly.
