Our philosophy here at Lakeside is to provide a personal, professional service by offering current evidence based treatments and rehabilitation to all our clients.

Lakeside prides itself on giving each patient individual care with a comprehensive assessment, diagnosis and treatment plan to address their problem. We aim to relieve pain and discomfort, improve movement and function and educate through advice, home exercise programmes to allow patients to manage their problem effectively wherever possible.

All physiotherapists at Lakeside are members of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and members of the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC).

With many years of post graduate experience the team at Lakeside are well placed to tackle a variety of common and complex conditions, injuries and rehabilitation needs.

Martin Copeland

Having qualified in Remedial Gymnastics and Recreational Therapy in 1977 in Cardiff specialising in applied anatomy, human kinetics and rehabilitation through exercise Martin then studied at Manchester for 2 years enhancing his knowledge and skills and developing manual therapy and electrotherapy techniques.

He worked in Leicester before returning to Staffordshire where he practised at a busy NHS out patients department and was the physiotherapist for Port Vale FC for 4 years.

Martin has extensive experience in the treatment of orthopaedic, sports and musculo skeletal conditions and has developed a special interest in movement impairment syndromes, muscle imbalance, clinical neurodynamics, cervico-genic dysfunctions/headaches, chronic pain and arthritic conditions and gym rehabilitation.

Adam Copeland

A keen sportsman, Adam, having gained a sports science degree from Loughborough, then completed his Physiotherapy degree and has spent the last few seasons working at a Premiership Football club. During this time he has gained first hand experience in the assessment, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of young adults and elite sportsmen working along side other experts and expanding his knowledge with the latest innovative protocols and evidence based treatments such as fascial scraping, release, and soft tissue therapy.

Adam has a special interest in sports injuries specifically lower limb injuries and tendinopathies. He thrives on rehabilitation using his strength and conditioning knowledge and exercise therapy to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Adam is a qualified acupuncturist and uses this alongside other modalities in his treatments.

Natalie Varetto

Having worked in both the NHS and private sectors for over 15 years Natalie brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience in the treatment of people with musculo skeletal problems and neurological impairments.

A fully qualified Pilates instructor Natalie will be introducing Pilates Classes at Lakeside at various times throughout the day from April 2019.

Peter Copeland

Since graduating from the University of Nottingham Peter has been developing a special interest in cervical spine and lumbar spine disorders.

He has a passion for gym rehabilitation, sports injuries, Compex therapy, acupuncture and dry needling and also specialises in the assessment and treatment hips, knees, ankles and shoulders (injuries, impingement, frozen shoulders, post op rehabilitation and biomechanics).
